Settling in at a new university, in a new city, and in a foreign country is not the easiest. Why are there two different trains called “the red line”? And what is this “fika”? Here's some important and useful information for a smooth start.
What activities are there on campus this week?
The welcome activities continue this week! You can go on a guided tour around Stockholm, join a soccer tryout, go to a pub, try speed-friending with SUS or maybe go to an annual meeting?
Speed-friending for new students!
To help new students find community on campus, SUS is arranging speed-friending events during the beginning of the semester.

Kåriander serves sustainable, lighter lunches and snacks at student-friendly prices.

From now on members of SUS receive a 5% discount when they buy something in the bookstore Campusbokhandeln.

During the beginning of the semester, there are often even more activities on campus than usual! Among other things, you can go to pubs, speed-friending, on a hike and campus tours!
The Service Desk’s Current Opening Hours
The service desk is open on location in Studenthuset again. You can turn to them if you have questions regarding your membership.

SUS’ office closed for the summer from July 17
The whole office, including the service desk, is also closed between July 17 and August 1.

Since the Swedish Public Health Agency has withdrawn the recommendation on distance education for universities, Stockholm University will proceed with a gradual opening of the University from 1 June.
New presidium and new board elected
During tonight’s student union assembly meeting, Elis Wibacke (VSF) and Simon Froster Delbom (S) were elected as SUS’ President and Vice President, respectively.
Take a summer course in blockchain and crypto
This summer, students at Stockholm University can take Crypto Students Stockholm’s course in cryptocurrencies.
Apply for project grants for autumn semester 2021
You can now apply for project grants for your student association or student/PhD council for events that take place during the first half of the autumn semester 2021.
The Student Union Election 2021 Results
The Student Union Election 2021 is now over! The voter turnout was a whopping 27%, which is the highest voter turnout in 39 years.

Statistics Sweden (SCB) sent out a national survey this week with the purpose of studying the prevalence of sexual harassment and gender-based violence in academia.
