What is an Ombud at SUS?
An ombud at SUS assists students and PhD students who encounter challenges or issues in their interactions with the university. Their role is to identify potential cases where Stockholm University may not be adhering to relevant rules and regulations. Instead of acting on behalf of students, the ombud provides guidance by offering information on applicable regulations tailored to the student’s specific case. While they do not represent students or attend meetings with the university, they empower students to navigate and advocate for their rights independently.
How do SUS’ Ombud handle sensitive information about me?
All student matters are handled confidentially. This means that no one other than the Ombud who handles your case may take part of the information. If the Ombud is in contact with other parties that are relevant to the case, for example the University itself, then the Ombud must handle the personal information with care and in agreement with the student in question’s wishes.
