Welcome to a new semester and to SUS!

Congratulations to you who have been accepted to Stockholm University! Once you are accepted to the course there are a few things that need to be done before the semester starts, especially if you are completely new on campus. Here are some tips on what you can do before the start of the spring semester.

1. Become a member of SUS!

By becoming a member of SUS, you will have access to a number of benefits. You can participate in activities and events, get free entry to student pubs, take advantage of discounts and even get free breakfast before CSN is paid! If you have ideas about what is missing on campus, SUS can also help you start your own association or become more involved in student life. Become a member here.

2. Find your schedule, course syllabus and bibliography!

Before the start of the semester, it is a good idea to keep track of your schedule, course syllabus and bibliography. The bibliography is usually published 8 weeks before the start of the course and the schedule is published no later than 4 weeks before the course starts on your course website. Take a look at these in advance so you can plan and prepare for your studies.

3. Join a housing queue!

If you haven't already arranged accommodation, it's a good idea to join a housing queue as soon as possible. Through your membership in SUS, you can join SSSB's housing queue, which is the largest for student accommodation in Stockholm.

4. Participate in SUS activities and welcome party!

To help you get started with your studies and at the same time have a fun start at the University, SUS is organizing a series of activities and events during the spring semester. There you can meet new friends, get tips about student life and learn more about the campus and our associations. We will start the spring semester with kick-off activities and end with a welcome party. Keep an eye out here for more information and dates for all the activities we organize during the start of the semester.

5. Get involved in student life!

In addition to activities and other social events, you can also get involved to participate in the development of your education in a student or PhD council or join or start your own association on campus based on an interest you have or are passionate about. If you want to develop your CV and earn money at the same time we offer exciting vacancies. For example, you can become part of the pub team in Kårpuben, work with SUS's social media, or get an assignment connected to the Student Union Election. Some of the assignments are paid and knowledge of Swedish may be required!

We look forward to meeting YOU during the spring semester. Good luck with your preparations, we hope you have a fantastic start to your studies! 🩷
