Congratulations on being accepted to Stockholm University!
Once you are accepted to the course there are a few things to do and as a new student it can be a lot to keep track of. Here are some things we want to advise you to do before the start of the semester, especially if you are completely new to campus.
Become a member of SUS! There are lots of fun things to come up with during your studies, especially if you are a member of SUS. As a member you get a lot of benefits – activities and kick-offs, free entry to student pubs, free breakfast the day before CSN, and other great discounts. If you feel that something is missing on campus, we will also help you start your own association and form your community as well as influence your study time. Read more and become a member here!
Place yourself in a housing queue! Through your membership in SUS, you can join SSSB's housing queue, which is the largest housing queue for students in Stockholm. The Stockholm Federation of Student Unions (SSCO) also offers a second-hand queue for students through Akademisk kvart.
Find your schedule, syllabus and bibliography! At Stockholm University, the bibliography is published 8 weeks before the start of the course and the schedule is published on the course page no later than 4 weeks before the start of the course. It may be a good idea to take a look on them before your course begins.
Buy or sell used course literature! Take the opportunity to buy course literature and sell your used course books before the start of the semester with the help of Studentapan and Campusbokhandeln. As a member of SUS, you also get 5% on course literature on the entire range at Campusbokhandeln.
Participate in SUS's activities in the beginning of the semester! We make sure that your time at Stockholm University is more than just studying and we organize kick-offs and activities in connection with the start of the semester. There you can meet lots of new friends and learn more about campus and student associations. The kick-off begins on August 30 and lasts until September 11. Do you already want to see a sneak peek at the upcoming activities? Read more here!
We look forward to seeing all new and returning students! 🩷
