New SUS leadership elected at the Representative Assembly

During SUS’s Representative Assembly meeting on September 19, 2024, former Vice President Hermela Embaye was elected President of the Student Union for the operational year 2024/2025. Victor Nygren was elected as Vice President. Victor Nygren is a doctoral student in social anthropology and is new to SUS's board, but has previously been involved in SUS through his PhD student council. Hermela and Victor will take up their positions immediately.

In addition to the election of a new presidium, the Representative Assembly meeting was characterized by debate. Among other things, the meeting dealt with both an interpellation and a motion on the pro-Palestinian demonstrations at the University. The meeting was polarized on the issue, but finally decided that SUS should take a stand for Stockholm University to end cooperation with Israeli universities.

In addition, Linnea Rydén was elected chair of the election committee and Martin Hansson was elected chair of the nominating comittee.
