Get help with your studies!
Whether you are new to university or a returning student, there are resources and support that can make your study time easier. Here are some useful resources and services that can help you get started with your studies.
Nais – study support for students
Stockholm University offers support for students with different needs through the web-based system Nais. If you have a documented disability or some other form of need that affects your learning, you can apply for study support. To access the system, you should apply via Nais website, and it is a good idea to do this as early as possible before the start of the semester.
Borrow course literature through the library
If your course literature is not available in digital form or if you need to get hold of books from other university libraries, you can borrow them through Stockholm University Library. There you also can borrow books from other libraries in Sweden, but also submit purchase suggestions for books, articles and other media resources that are not available at the library.
Borrow talking books if you need it
Stockholm University Library also offers help for students who are in need of talking books. For example, if you have a visual impairment or reading disability that makes it difficult to read printed text, you can get access to course literature and talking books via Legimus. The library will help you with creating an account on Legimus and show you how to use and borrow talking books.
Academic Writing Service – support with writing, academic texts and study techniques
Another good resource is the Academic Writing Service. Here you can, among other things, get support with writing academic texts, becoming more effective in your studies and your writing. The Academic Writing Service offers both individual help and various writing courses for students who want to improve their writing skills, but also organizes various workshops and lectures. The service is free and open to all students at the university.
